Tank Rehabilitation & Surface Coating
Sealing tank bases, repairing tank roofs and floating roofs, coating surfaces in compliance with standards: as a certified specialist company under the German Water Resources Act (WHG) and AwSV ordinance, we protect your facility – and the groundwater.

Leak-tight, safe and compliant
Tanks and vessels for oils, fuels and chemicals are among the most sensitive installations in any operation. Regular inspection and maintenance prevent small leaks, cracks or corrosion spots from turning into environmental damage – and considerably extend the service life of the tanks.
Under WHG/AwSV, no water-hazardous substances may enter the soil or groundwater. Our rehabilitation concepts ensure that your facility not only meets this requirement today but continues to comply with it permanently.
Tank base sealing
At the transition between the tank foot and the concrete base, moisture, movement and cracking can easily lead to critical leaks. We professionally prepare the base area, seal the joint around the entire circumference and protect it with a suitable sealing system – for example with liquid-applied polyurea.
Tank rehabilitation and surface coating under WHG and AwSV
From analysis and planning to execution, we rehabilitate tanks and coat surfaces fully in line with WHG and AwSV requirements – reliably, in compliance with standards and with as little disruption to operations as possible. This increases operational safety, extends the service life of the facility and reduces follow-up costs.

FAQ: Tank rehabilitation and surface coating under WHG
Why does a tank base need to be sealed?
Otherwise moisture penetrates at the transition between tank foot and concrete base. This leads to corrosion of the tank floor and can cause leaks through which water-hazardous substances escape. Circumferential sealing permanently protects this critical area.
Can any company rehabilitate tank facilities?
No. Under the AwSV, facilities handling water-hazardous substances may in many cases only be installed, repaired and cleaned by certified specialist companies. DSM is certified as a specialist company under WHG/AwSV.
Which systems do you use for tank rehabilitation?
Depending on the requirements, sprayable cold-applied polyurea, MS polymer (free of solvents, isocyanates and silicone), ceramic sealing systems and polymer metals for levelling irregularities.
Do you also coat surfaces under WHG?
Yes. In addition to tank rehabilitation, we coat surfaces where water-hazardous substances are handled in line with WHG and AwSV requirements – from analysis and planning to execution.
