When the crane runway no longer bears the load properly
Crane rails and their substructure are subject to constant dynamic loads. Loose fastenings, voids under the rail, broken-out grout or settlement in the concrete lead to movement in the system. The consequences: increased wear on the rail and crane wheels, impacts when travelling over affected sections and, in the worst case, operational disruptions.
We inspect the condition on site and select the appropriate method: reinforcement of the existing crane runway, creating a form-fit and force-fit connection with our gap compensation, regrouting or – if necessary – complete replacement of the crane rail including concrete repair.
Form fit and force fit instead of shimming
Voids under crane rails are traditionally compensated with shim plates. Our liquid gap compensation, by contrast, fills the gap completely and restores 100 % of the load-bearing contact. Time-consuming measurement for individual plates is largely eliminated.

FAQ: Crane Rail Refurbishment
How can I tell that my crane rail needs refurbishment?
Typical signs are unusual wear on crane wheels and wheel flanges, impacts or noise when travelling over the rail, visible movement of the rail, loose clamps, and cracks or spalling in the grout and concrete.
Does the crane runway have to be completely out of service during refurbishment?
That depends on the installation and the method. We plan the work so that downtime is kept as short as possible and agree sections and time windows with your operations in advance.
What is the advantage of gap compensation over shim plates?
Shim plates have to be measured and fitted individually and still leave voids. Liquid gap compensation adapts to any gap geometry and creates a complete form-fit and force-fit connection.
